3A685E We are continuing our Beakerhead Challenge next week and are moving into the prototype stage of the Design Thinking process. For this stage, students have decided they need the following materials:
Cardboard Felt material Rubber bands Duct tape Bottle lids Buttons Please remember, we also need mason jars for a Chemistry Lab on Monday. All materials are due Monday, November 27th. We have just begun our exploration into Classroom Chemistry! To support our work in the upcoming weeks, please help us to collect clean mason jars. We are aiming to collect one mason jar per student (approximately 60) to use in some of our chemistry experiments. We will need the mason jars by Monday, November 27. Thank you in advance!
Students are building their listening skills through current events and issues. Today, we watched the following video:
http://calgary.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=1259915 Students are encouraged to watch this video again at home and discuss this topic further. Some questions to guide the discussion are: What perspectives can we approach this topic from? How are different groups impacted by this topic? What questions do we need to ask? Students will share new insights at school on Thursday. We will be having a debate to further develop listening and speaking skills. Students must select the link below and complete their final exit slip for our unit on Canadian Regions. The link will take students to a Google Form page. They must put an answer for each question before they can submit their work. The questions are intended to get them to reflect on our concept of risk and security through the topic of regions in Canada. This is due Monday, November 13th.
